Are Puppies Beaver-Like-Mammals? (H-Bomb)

Time flies when you're house training a puppy. Thankfully, Izzy and I have settled into a routine and when I keep to it, she does pretty well. There was a time there for awhile when I was mopping the kitchen floor every day, sometimes twice. Not so fun.

Izzy is completely smitten with Lottie and Lottie seems to have a lot of fun playing predator and prey with Izzy. Adding Miss Izzy to the family has certainly been a big change for all of us and I've worried about whether it was the right thing to do. I know that Izzy is happy and I think Miss Lottie enjoys the company most of the time although she misses coming to the office as often as she used to. It's clear that I got Izzy to help fill a hole, though, and so I can't help but feel guilty for rocking Lottie's world. I hope it was the right thing to do. Izzy sure is sweet and she's got a lot of spunk. You should see how cute they are when Izzy cuddles up next to Lottie.

Here are Lottie and Izzy on March 24th. Lottie is 6 yr 9 mo and 15 lbs 4 oz (a wee bit heavy) and Izzy is 4 mo and 5 lbs.

Cycling season is in full swing and I'm excited to be back on the road. Jane and I are starting to plan our rides for the year. She's all excited to bike Skyline Drive. Who knows, maybe we'll do it. This weekend we've got two long rides planned. Fingers crossed the rain holds off.

I recently created a group on .Mac for the local cycling community, the Team Dominion Digital & Cycling Friends group. There's a message board for members to post ride info to, a calendar with loads of training rides and cycling events, and a bunch of cycling resources like links to a2coaching, Buffalo2Step, League of American Bicyclists, etc. I hope it takes off. Let me know if you want to join the group and I'll send you an invite.

The Spring snow storm on Saturday, April 6th kept most casual cyclists off the road, but it sure made for a beautiful morning. (It sure didn't stop those crazy pro cyclists in the US Open Cycling Championships who biked from Williamsburg to Richmond in a snow storm followed by stiff winds and frigid temps. Woo Woo for crazy!)
Fun things: The Farmer's Market is open! My Fragrant Viburnum is in full bloom and the whole yard smells gorgeous! Happy Rickshaw has resumed their pedicab service! And Phoebe launched her long-awaited new site beaverlikemammals.com!

Gotta go. It's time to take the puppies out to do their bedtime business.
